Name: Barium hydroxide
Molecular formula: Ba(OH)2
CAS No.: 17194-00-2
Products Description
Sodium hydroxide octahydrate 99% is a white monoclinic crystal. It is slightly soluble in water, and the aqueous solution is strongly alkaline. It is easy to become barium carbonate in the air. After heating, the crystal water is gradually lost, and all the crystal water is lost at 780 °C and becomes anhydrous.
Specifications
Application
Barium hydroxide is used as a catalyst in the synthesis of phenol-formaldehyde resins.
Barium hydroxide is utilized as an analytical reagent, for separating precipitated sulfate ions, manufacturing barium salts, and determining carbon dioxide in the air.
Barium hydroxide is also employed for chlorophyll quantification, refining sugars and vegetable oils, cleaning agents for boiler water, insecticides, and in the rubber industry, among other applications.
Barium hydroxide is mainly used as superfinished multi-purpose additive for the lubricant of internal-combustion engine and for barium-based grease and oil.
Package & Storage
25kg plastic bag inside and woven bag outside.
Barium hydroxide should be stored in a cool and well-ventilated warehouse, away from open flames and heat sources. The packaging should be sealed. Store separately from acids and edible chemicals, and avoid mixing. The storage area should be equipped with appropriate materials to contain leaks.
